Apocalypto

Well, I voted this morning. It took me almost two hours of waiting in line, but I cast my ballot against Obama, for Palin, and-- to a lesser degree-- for McCain, and against Biden.

Despite the fact that I have been trying hard not to care about this race, I find myself quite tense. And so in these trying hours, I turn to the words of wiser men than I for solace:

Kent Brockman: Professor, without knowing precisely what the danger is, would you say it's time for our viewers to crack each other's heads open and feast on the goo inside?
Professor: Yes I would, Kent.

Mmmmm! That's good democracy!

I don't know what is going to make our country the worser....Obama the socialist or the marriage thing passing in CA.

Either way, God help us all.

I'm still holding out for the McCain Palin ticket. And, hopefully McCain will keel over real quick from all the stress.

Prof Payne,

Quick question: why did you support Sarah Palin? I guess this surprised me only because of her lack of experience in foreign policy, etc. Anyway, I had a really hard time supporting McCain as president because (among many other reasons) I have always seen Palin as more of a liability for his presidency than an asset. Anyway, we'll see how things go under President Obama.

I knew Sarah Palin was not a finished product, so to speak. But I supported her anyway because her accomplishments and natural abilities gave me confidence in the leader she could become.

It's kind of like the other half of the country voting for Obama. Except he's accomplished much less. And he was running for President, instead of VP. So his supporters must have really believed in his natural abilities. Because there's nothing else there.

Boy, it is going to be a long four years...

I'm with you on the Palin thing. She honestly seems to provide a bit of fresh air compared to everything else. And I definitely feel like Obama is just throwing out empty words of "Change" "Hope" and "Yes, we can". I do hope dearly Obama shows us what this all really means and, more importantly, they turn out to be something good. But frankly I don't have that kind of faith.
